The Chicago Urban Sportsman and Adventurers Society’s 2nd Annual Running of the Bulls
CUSAS is proud to announce it will be holding it’s 2nd Annual Running of the Bulls along with Chicago’s own Windy City Rollers on August 18th, 2012. The pub crawl will take place in the Ukranian Village neighborhood and will be held to raise money to cover medical bills for Windy City Roller Tequila Mockingbird who was seriously injured in a Derby competition. The event will also raise awareness for important urban sporting and adventurer such as “Bull” running and whiffle ball.
This year, the bar crawl will begin at Happy Village(1059 N. Wolcott) at roughly 2:30 PM. Participants are encouraged to dress in the traditional Pamplona style of white with red sashes. The “Bulls” will in part be played by Chicago’s own Windy City Rollers dressed in Windy City Roller gear with helmets adorned with horns.
During the 1st ‘Run’ to High Dive(1059 N. Wolcott), the Bulls will be brandishing whiffle ball bats to ‘encourage’ runners to pick up the pace and gently remind us of the thrill of urban sporting such as this. From High Dive(1938 West Chicago Ave), our final run will be to Darkroom (2210 Chicago Ave) where we will be entertained by the sounds of Chicago’s premier Talking Heads tribute band, This Must Be The Band.
A suggested donation of $20 can be made at the door to Darkroom and will cover expenses and help raise funds for this important event.
