TMBTB pays homage to Talking Heads’ split personality: Dance Champion and Art Rock Scientists.
The first set will consist of the Heads’ experimental/art rock tunes: all the songs where they pushed the boundaries of music as an art form, weird ones, dark ones. This includes a few Billboard hits, a bunch of fan favorites, and some that you may have never heard.
The second set will be all the ragers: all the hypnotic dance songs, …tribal grooves, and happy hits.
Also very important: we are asking all the Heads fans to bring in their art to display around the room at the Abbey Pub. If you have Heads-related art, awesome. If not, awesome. We want to decorate the pub with good examples of just how weird everyone gets in their spare time. Email thismustbetheband@gmail if you want to display some art during this show!
We will have the masterful painter Samuel Polce interpreting Talking Heads songs as TMBTB plays them live. Who knows what he will come up with?
With opener Savvy, the art rock giant, starting at 9:30, this show should be Trojan Horse epic.
